Globally, nearly one billion people are affected by migraines – about 15% of the world population – and over 2% of the world population is affected by chronic migraines. Migraines can cause nausea, vomiting, hypersensitivity to light, sound, and smell, and can severely debilitate patients at the onset of their migraine attacks.
